Commercial Roofing Project Manager

Apex Architectural Metal, LLC is seeking an experienced Project Manager to manage commercial roofing and architectural metal projects from award through closeout. This role is built for someone who can control scope, schedule, cost, documentation, materials, customer communication, and field coordination without losing the details.

Apex specializes in standing seam metal roofing, single ply roofing, modified bitumen roofing, metal wall panels, ACM panels, gutters, downspouts, coping, trim, and related architectural sheet metal systems.
Position Summary
The Project Manager will review drawings, understand contract scope, coordinate submittals and material releases, communicate with customers and field crews, manage schedules, track costs, process RFIs and change orders, and help ensure projects are completed safely, accurately, and on schedule.
Primary Responsibilities
Review plans, specifications, contracts, shop drawings, and project documents to verify scope and identify issues early.
Manage commercial roofing and architectural metal projects from startup through closeout.
Coordinate with general contractors, owners, architects, suppliers, subcontractors, and Apex field teams.
Prepare and process submittals, RFIs, material releases, change orders, warranties, and closeout documents.
Coordinate material takeoffs, procurement, fabrication requirements, delivery schedules, and installation sequencing.
Track project costs, labor budgets, schedules, change impacts, and project progress.
Attend project meetings and communicate clearly with customers and internal team members.
Support field crews with drawings, details, sequencing, site coordination, and problem solving.
Maintain project documentation, schedules, correspondence, cost records, and closeout files.
Promote safe work practices and help ensure compliance with project safety requirements.
The ideal candidate understands commercial construction, takes ownership of project details, communicates directly, solves problems before they become larger issues, and can coordinate office, field, vendor, and customer needs without losing control of schedule, cost, or scope.

Requirements
- Commercial roofing and/or architectural sheet metal project management experience.
- Knowledge of standing seam roofing, single ply roofing, modified bitumen roofing, metal wall panels, ACM panels, gutters, coping, and sheet metal trim.
- Ability to read and understand architectural drawings, shop drawings, specifications, contracts, and construction details.
- Experience with estimating, takeoffs, material ordering, scheduling, RFIs, submittals, and change orders.
- AutoCAD, drafting, or shop drawing experience is desirable, but not required.
- Strong communication, organization, and follow-through.
- Ability to manage multiple projects at one time.
- Proficiency with project management software, email, spreadsheets, and basic construction documentation.
- Field experience in roofing or architectural metal is a plus.
